Writing a Good Story

The importance of this site is based on the realities it reflects. Try to express yourself in as direct and honest a way as possible. Remember you are trying to reflect the emotions you felt as you experienced the events of 9/11.

This system allows you to preview your story before you post. If you need to edit it, you may do so in this preview mode. If you feel more comfortable, compose your post offline and then paste it into the submission page.

Your story will appear randomly next to a story from the other category of entries. The juxtaposition of the two stories, identical moments from two different vantage points is what this web site is about.

Rules of the Road

Please stay on the topic of this site. Dichotomy is not only about our day on September 11 but about the importance of where we found ourselves and when. Be sensitive to the nature of this site and the emotions surrounding the attacks. Respect others. Off topic stories will be deleted.

Please use your real name. You may use your first name only if you wish.

Limit your story to 500 words or less. This is about one typed, single-spaced page. You can review and edit your posting before uploading.

Verify your post. After you submit your story we will immediately send a verification email to the email address you give us. This is to make sure the story came from you. Within the body of this email you will find a specific URL (web address). Go to this web page to verify your post. If you have any problems, drop us a note.

Dichotomy reserves the right to delete any post for any reason. Hopefully, this won't happen.
